The debate on globalization and the fights against racism and discrimination only serve to increase awareness about how much is at stake in social development. Our goals are ambitious: to improve the quality of life and extend economic benefits and empowerment broadly throughout civil societies and minority communities. Now we are seeking a growing consensus from both governments and wealthier communities across the country and a renewed commitment on the part of national and international civil communities and governments to collaborate and harmonize the many efforts under way.
The different organs, agencies and bodies of the FAAVM are involved in nearly every aspect of human rights, civil rights and human development, with activities ranging from economic development and advancement, legislative research projects, global partnership and trade, to financial and technical assistance from governments and private enterprises. The FAAVM plays an important supporting role as developing Canadian visible minority communities shape, and implement their strategies to reduce poverty and stimulate growth. We also place a high priority on communicating knowledge about development.
Through its institutions, organs, bodies and agencies, the FAAVM works tirelessly to establish specific mechanisms nationally and internationally, bringing a mixture of socio economic and human rights programmes aiming to improving living standards and eliminating inequities among and within disadvantaged communities.

- Raphaël Louis was born in Les Cayes, south shore of the island of Hispaniola, Republic of Haiti, within the Caribbean islands, of Yva Génois (mother), Idanor Louis (deceased father).
During infancy and adolescence, Raphael Louis consecrated considerable period of times to missionary, artistic, religious activities, television production, international cultural and diplomatic missions, and respectively documentary and short story writings.
Moreover, Raphael Louis began academics research, and later devoted more times towards strategic research studies amongst numerous highly recognized and most reputable organizations globally.
Subsequently, Raphaël Louis arrived in the United States of America (U.S.A) in May of 1992, and immigrated into Canada in September of 1993 as socio-political refugee, and was subsequently recognized unanimously by the United Nations International Refugee Tribunal as a refugee under international conventions.
Additionally, Raphael Louis significantly contributed towards various international cultural special events, as a Ballet Dancer, choreographer, folk ballet dance teacher and singer.
Recipient of the Honourary Award in Volunteering and Organization, nominated officially and unanimously by the International House of the University of Ottawa, Canada.

Vigil
Where are you now,with your palms together,
bowing,
your dark red robes
wrapping the wisdom
of a thousand years,
white knife peaks,
and over six thousand
monasteries?
Your home not your home
and yet your home always,
you wander,
you meditate,
you chant and pray;
you teach, you love,
or you stay
and must keep quiet.
Yet prayer flags still blow
in high Tibetan air,
prayer flags still blow
in the deep dark-eyed hearts
of your people.
There are places
the intruders,
the violators
cannot reach–
places alive with
the smiles and tears
of your lost land.
Red robed ones
with your calm eyes
upon the world,
you who pay homage
to the consciousness
in all things,
you who see far beyond
appearances:
you know past time,
you love past duality,
and yet you cry too.
The mountains of Tibet,
the vast plateaus and
green valleys,
the sky lakes and blue rivers,
the sons and daughters
of this sacred land
know and wait for you,
and for their time
within space and beyond
to be free.
