I am the Candle Flame
I am the candle flame for Tibet on high
My country stolen mountains in the sky
Valleys weep your clouds float on by
Freedom taken from me that’s why I cry
Oh mountain trails how I miss your track
My flame burns bright I want you back
Within my soul I yearn my eyes wet
Tibet you were my life ill not forget
Why did you come take my home away?
Even then you didn’t ask I had no say
You stole my heart my spirit all I had
Now here I burn my flame bright but sad
What did I do I ask the question why
For I grow weary to see my land for I die
Here I stand you smile look down on me
Ill fight for you till my death to set you free
So many years i've suffered silent in pain
How I yearn to touch your gentle soil again
To climb to yonder mountain peek above
Once more my spirit to feel of your love

Vigil
Where are you now,
with your palms together,
bowing,
your dark red robes
wrapping the wisdom
of a thousand years,
white knife peaks,
and over six thousand
monasteries?
Your home not your home
and yet your home always,
you wander,
you meditate,
you chant and pray;
you teach, you love,
or you stay
and must keep quiet.
Yet prayer flags still blow
in high Tibetan air,
prayer flags still blow
in the deep dark-eyed hearts
of your people.
There are places
the intruders,
the violators
cannot reach–
places alive with
the smiles and tears
of your lost land.
Red robed ones
with your calm eyes
upon the world,
you who pay homage
to the consciousness
in all things,
you who see far beyond
appearances:
you know past time,
you love past duality,
and yet you cry too.
The mountains of Tibet,
the vast plateaus and
green valleys,
the sky lakes and blue rivers,
the sons and daughters
of this sacred land
know and wait for you,
and for their time
within space and beyond
to be free.

When a symbolic gesture gains press, then it goes beyond being symbolic. After that, it becomes a matter of whether the report educates on the issue or is only focused on the gesture.
At The Tibetan Photo Project, we have always been self funded and had the support of a few small donors. From this we have produced 3 films, maintained a Website, traveled to India on a 6-week shooting schedule in north, central and south india and also provided still cameras and film, a broadcast quality movie camera and a computer and made, packaged and mailed hundreds of free DVDs with the mission of creating a voice directly from the films and photos by Tibetans living in exile.
Now our goal reaches far beyond our personal ability and finances and we need real and concrete help to get to the final stage, of building The Tibetan Photo Project Film Maker Education Centers in India in 2010.
You can click this link to read the entire plan at our Website for The Tibetan Photo Project
You can see how we have made The Tibetan Photo Project act as a voice for the Tibetan exile community by clicking this link.
Maybe you don't have the money to help or you are already giving in other places.
The greatest challenge the Tibetans will face will be maintaining and growing a voice that is heard across the world... if you cannot financially help, then please.... Please just tell people about the effort and they can begin here
www.tibetanphotoproject.com;
and our direct email is thetibetanphotoproject@yahoo.com
Please, anyone writing, please put Tibet in the subject line.
Visually and Respectfully, Joe Mickey and Sazzy Varga
For one of our programs, we mailed an individual DVD to each of the 100 U.S senators.

Dear friend of a Free Tibet, welcome to our network. Thanks a lot for joining us!
All across the world, candles are glowing with the light of love and compassion for the people of Tibet. The purpose has been to focus the attention of the whole world on the Chinese government’s inhumane treatment of these gentle people so dear to us.
We also hope to help every individual who visits our network to become more aware of the need to take a stand against the violation of human rights by any country towards any individual, people, or nation.
Today, we have the opportunity to make our voices heard and unite as “One World, One People.” Let us not think this one protest fulfills our duty, our obligation to our fellow humans. Wherever you are, please open your eyes and see the suffering in the world around you, and let it hurt you to your very soul.
Then make a personal vow to keep the flames of protest against human suffering that we have begun here burning brightly every day of your life until all people the world over are free.
Please investigate the injustices the people of Tibet have and still are suffering through the following link www.candle4tibet.org.
If you want to know more about CFT please see this video interview about the aim of CFT and enjoy this radio interview.
You can view pictures of light protest vigils by selecting Groups at the top of this page, and then select Light Protest Photos. You can view the videos on YouTube.
We hope that you'll find your experience here enriching, educating and fun. We have learned to laugh with each other even through our tears of sadness. Bonds of friendship have been formed, and life-long, life-changing memories have been made.
Personally, I have never had a more rewarding experience than I have here, joining with so many loving and compassionate people who want to end suffering.
This network will continue to exist as long as there is suffering in the world, and people who care.
Love & Freedom
Diane and all her friends for a Free Tibet
